Danebod campus and buildings

Danebod Folk School

The folk school building serves as a place for fellowship and life-long learning. A lecture hall and several classrooms allow ample space for programming. Dormitory rooms are on the second and third floors.

Gym Hall

The Gym Hall was originally built as a space for Danish gymnastics, folk dancing, music and theatrical performances, large social gatherings, and even worship before a church was built.

Danebod Lodge

The Danebod Lodge is the newest housing accommodation at Danebod Family Camp. It contains a limited number of rooms that are handicap-accessible and air conditioned which are awarded based on physical need.

Pavilion

The screened pavilion protects campers from the elements… and mosquitos. It is used for crafts, activities, and more.

Pop stand

In the morning, campers can purchase coffee at the pop stand. In the afternoon, it is a location for crafts.

Stone Hall

The Stone Hall is an unofficial museum housing a collection of photographs, publications, and objects important to the history of Danebod. The Stone Hall is typically open for public viewing during Danebod Family Camp.

Danebod Lutheran Church

“The Cross Church at Danebod” was dedicated Sunday, June 16, 1895. It was built largely with volunteer labor and money pledged by the early settlers, who had little to give. The Danebod Colony was established by a church organization and became the Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. Campers observe a moment of quiet during the evening ringing of the church bells.
